While the rest of Australia waits, the students at St Paul’s School, Coburg, got an exclusive sneak peek into a new book.

Author and friend of the school, Felice Arena, will release his latest novel, The Unstoppable Flying Flanagan, later this month. The school not only received copies of the new novel, but also had a visit from the author himself. Felice has been responsible for the Specky Magee series, historical novels including Fearless Frederic and The Boy and the Spy, as well as many other books for younger readers. In 2021, his presentation inspired a St Paul’s School student, Jack, to share his review of A Great Escape with the author. Jack’s review is listed on the author’s website along with reviews by teacher librarians, reviewers and booksellers.

‘Author visits are so inspirational to our students, and their connection encourages reading and literacy skills’, said principal Maria Mercuri. The Unstoppable Flying Flanagan is available from 29 March.
